ACME UK as part of its mission has voluntarily taken upon itself the following responsibilities:

• Develop criteria for evaluation of  educational programs and activities; patient education programs and activities by which ACMEUK will accredit CME and patient education programs for assuring compliance with these standards.
• Ensure that the organization and processes of continuing medical education are in conformity with globally acceptable scientific and ethical norms and that only such programs are accorded its accreditation.
• Ensure that continuing medical education and its accreditation support quality patient care and the continuum of medical education.
• Constantly review and assess developments in continuing medical education’s support of quality health.
• Review periodically its role in continuing medical education to ensure it remains responsive to public and professional needs.
